I am primarily interested in applying numerical methods, in particular lattice based methods, to the solution of Einstein's field equations of General Relativity. I also keep my sanity by light-hearted investigations of the visual effetcs that arise from Einstein's theories. When you take photographs of familiar objects that are moving close to the speed of light you will find that the images appear remarkably bent. The source of this weird behaviour (relativity abounds with weirdness) is the finite speed of light. In General Relativity we have the extra complication that light rays can be bent by the gravitational fields. This too leads to strange looking images.
