Foswiki

How to restrict wiki access:
1. Navigate to the page you want to restrict.
2. Look on the bottom for the button "More topic actions."
3. In that menu, click on "Edit settings for this topic."
4. To allow access to individuals, paste the following text:
   * Set ALLOWTOPICVIEW = EricThrane,WarrenAnderson,PaulLasky,LetiziaSammut,XingjiangZhu,RorySmith,GrantMeadors,ColmTalbot,BorisGoncharov,KylaAdams,DuncanGalloway,EthanPayne,MarcusLower,NikhilSarin,PaulEaster,WillCampbell,YuriLevin,SylviaBiscoveanu
   * Set ALLOWTOPICCHANGE = EricThrane,WarrenAnderson,PaulLasky
   * Set ALLOWTOPICRENAME = WarrenAnderson
5. To allow access based on communities, paste teh following text:
   * Set ALLOWTOPICVIEW = Communities:LVC:LSC:LSCGroupMembers
  * Set ALLOWTOPICCHANGE = EricThrane,WarrenAnderson,PaulLasky
   * Set ALLOWTOPICRENAME = WarrenAnderson
6. Warren: FOSWiki is super picky about syntax. The settings will be erased upon save if the formatting is not just right. I've reset the permissions on the two example topics. You can't delete or add spaces or change any characters that are not names of people or groups, or the settings will be lost. There is a little "Edit Help" link at the top of the topic preferences box that tells you what the formatting rules are.
7. Warren: I just removed the "DENY" clauses from the settings. There are wiki configurations that cause empty deny to mean "ACCEPT ALL". I inherited the wiki, so I don't know if those configurations were used. If Yeshe can still see the Monash topic, I'll dig into it some more.
