Prasoon Kumar

Prason received his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from Birla Institue of Technology, Mesra, India in 2008, and masters from Indian Institute of technology, Kanpur in 2010. He also has experience in working with Central Scientific Instruments Organization. He is a IITB-Monash Research Academy student working with Prof. Prasanna Gandhi and our group on microfabrication and transport properties of biomimetic structures manufactured by microstereolithography. His hobbies are reading and listening to light music.

Mahdokht

Mahdokht E. Shaibani

 .

Mahdokht was born in Iran and completed undergraduate and masters degree in Materials Engineering from Shiraz University and University of Tehran respectively. Her current research focuses on using linked porous organic frameworks in electrochemical applications. In her spare time Mahdokht enjoys watching movies and reading books. In addition she is a big fan of soccer and tennis. (co-supervisor: Dr. Matthew Hill, CSIRO)

Abozar

Abozar Akbari

 .

Abozar was born in Iran and joined our group after completing undergraduate and masters degree in Polymer Engineering from Azad University of Iran and University Technology of Malaysia, respectively. He is working on the development of advanced graphene-based membrane for application in water treatment, food processing. In his spare time he enjoys physical activities such as running and sweating it out in the gym.

Sam Martin

Samuel Martin

Sam graduated from Monash University with a Science/Engineering double degree specializing in mechatronics, theoretical physics and mathematics. Sam's PhD studies look at the nanofluidic behaviour of carbon systems with a goal to developing biosensors.  When he's free Sam enjoys skiing, reading and travelling.(co-supervisor: A/Prof. Adrian Neild)

tanesh

Tanesh Gamot

Tanesh completed his masters in materials science from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur (IIT KGP) in 2012. He has worked on graphene-oxide-zinc oxide nanocomposites as channels in thin film transistors which lead to publications in Langmuir and Carbon. Currently, he is exploring the properties of graphene oxide as a surfactant in the IITB-Monash Reseach Academy with Prof. Arup R. Bhattacharyya, Dr. Mainak Majumder and Prof. Tam Sridhar. His hobbies include listening to music and watching educational programs.

Joynul Abedin

Md Joynul Abedin completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2012. Prior to joining NSEL for PhD study, he has completed Master of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2015. His research interest includes liquid crystal phase transition of graphene oxide in organic solvents and nanofiber fabrication. He enjoys watching football, movies, & travelling to new places.

Sally El Meragawi

Sally graduated from Texas A&M University at Qatar in 2015 with both a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. Her master’s work focused on modelling of phase equilibrium properties using equations of state. At Monash, she focuses on the study of the mass transport properties of various ions and saccharide molecules through graphene-based membranes.  In her spare time, Sally enjoys reading and playing basketball.

Senior Researchers:

Dr. Parama Banerjee-Chakraborty

Parama completed her PhD from the department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University. Prior to her PhD, she completed her bachelor and masters degree in Physics from the University of Calcutta, India. Her current research includes development and electrochemical characterization of graphene based supercapacitors. Parama is a trained Indian classical dancer and in her spare time she enjoys nurturing her dancing skills.
