The Harmonica is the only exception and is played at times during the church service or weddings to accompany the singing of hymns and wedding songs. Some Amish men are very talented and become very accomplished harmonica players. Sometimes you will hear the men singing while they work and at time they will also yodel. If you ever have the opportunity to be in an Amish home you will usually here the women singing and yodeling while they do their housework, laundry and cooking. From what I have been told, the main reason musical instruments are not permitted, is that the Amish people do not believe in doing anything that will draw attention to themselves or cause them to stand out from other people. -------------------------------------------- RECIPE OF THE MONTH -------------------------------------------- Small Christmas Pecan Tarts • 8 oz.
