Dr Lillie Shortridge-Baggett

"The Value of a Theoretical Framework"

Dr Shortridge-Baggett is a Professor and former Executive Director of Center for Nursing Research, Clinical Practice, and International Affairs, Lienhard School of Nursing, Pace University. She is a Visiting Professor with Utrecht University, The Netherlands; University of Antwerp, Belgium; and Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. Dr. Shortridge-Baggett has been in the forefront of developments in nurse practitioner education, nurse-managed health centers, health promotion programs, and international affairs. She has received numerous grants and has authored books, chapters, and articles on nurse-managed care, diabetes, the use of seclusion in psychiatry, early detection of delirium in the elderly, homelessness and homeless families, collaborative health care, and collaborative research through international consortia. She is an excellent teacher and enjoys teaching across all levels of education. Dr. Shortridge-Bagett has received many honors for her work over the years, including induction into the American Academy of Nursing, the National Academies of Practice, and the Nursing Hall of Fame of Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr Walter Baggett

"Healthcare Information Technology Security"

Dr Walter Baggett received his Bachelors degree from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana and a Masters of Business Administration in finance from University of California at Los Angeles in Finance. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Business Administration, specializing in organizational behaviour (essentially making him an Industrial/ Social Psychologist). He then proceeded to pass the Certified Public Accountants exam and practice accounting and auditing before returning to academe where he teaches accounting, auditing and computer auditing. His research and publications have concentrated on a variety of auditing issues. He currently is working on applying social-cognitive learning theory to ethics programs, computer security and fraud prevention and detection.
