Objectives :
§Primary purpose is to implement the Kalman Filter Data Assimilation method in NASA’s Land Data Assimilation System (LDAS) for operational validation of land products from AMSR-E on-board NASA’s Aqua
satellite;
§Use the Kalman Filter Land Data Assimilation System (KF-LDAS) as a research tool
to examine the characteristics of satellite data products;
§Use KF-LDAS as a research tool
to examine and compare the
performance of various land
surface models for the improvement of weather and climate prediction models.
