Jean-Louis Berger is a Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training, Lausanne, Switzerland. He worked as special education teacher and support teacher and graduated from the University of Geneva (MArts in 2003, PhD in 2008). He was then visiting scholar at the Combined Program in Education and Psychology in 2008-2009, with a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation. His research interests include teacher motivation using the FIT-Choice framework, teachers’ knowledge and beliefs, and their connection with instructional practice. In another line of research, he investigates self-regulated learning, metacognition, and motivational beliefs in students with and without learning difficulties.
