Postdoc position available:

A Postdoctoral position in the area of “Soft Wearable Sensors and Energy Devices” is available immediately funded by Australian Research Council. We are looking for a highly-motivated researcher with the following competences/skills:

>>>Strong research background in soft, flexible and/or stretchable electronics;
>>>Strong research experiences in capacitors and batteries;
>>>Experience in the design of skin-like tactile and mechanical sensors is a plus;
>>>Know-how on building wearable prototypes is a plus;
>>>Strong organizational skills, creativity, motivation and communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are highly required.

The prospective candidate has a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering or in the closely-related fields.

Job expectation: publish high-impact scholarly papers; proactively perform cutting-edge research in a multidisciplinary working environment; co-supervise PhD students; participate grant writings.

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications in the range of 70,000AUD to 110,00AUD per annum. Initial appointments could be for 1 year with the possibility of renewal.

PhD student positions available:

Our research program is at the nano-bio interface, which is a crossdisciplinary area of Chemistry, Materials Science, and Biology. Supported by Australian Research Council, we are looking for highly-motivated PhD candidates to join us. The positions are open for students with background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials science or Biological Engineering. The projects include synthesis of high-quality plasmonic nanoparticles, DNA conjugation and directed assembly, the thinnest possible nanoparticle superlattices, soft electronics, wearable sensors and targetted anticancer theranostics.

Undergraduate or Mater students with a strong desire to do creative work in a new and rapidly growing field are strongly encouraged to apply. For the candidates who are interested in our programm, please send inquiries along with a detailed CV, names and contact information of three references to Professor Wenlong Cheng (wenlong.cheng@monash.edu). Experiences in nanomaterials, ultrafiltration, nucleic acids, surface chemistry, and nanofabrication, drug delivery is a plus.
