1977
Mikal Was Born in the Royal Melbourne Womens Hospital on March 11 1977. Lets face it. Mikal won't be getting up to much for a while. But we better talk about his parents for a bit. Sybil and Yurgen Ahrens were both born in what is now eastern Germany (formorly East Germany). Both are tall aryan peoples, and both are quite elderly. Now that is, in 1977 they were twenty years younger. Mikals Parents only recently came to Melbourne (this is from the 77 perspective that is). Before that they lived in Sydney and West Germany.

Primary school 1983-1989
Who remembers primary school. Weren't you all too young. Anyway mikal went to school at a small state school in the eastern suburbs of melbourne. We'll call it Bentleigh East Primary school. Nothing much happened. Apart from being terribly uncoordinated and all. ie. Sports wren't good. That and a certain amount of bullying because of his funny accent. But basically nothing major.

1990 Bentleigh High school and strange things afoot
Mikals first year at High school was pretty much like anyone elses. Boredom and bullying. Latter in the year however a man by the name of Willhelm Thorson opened a line of communication with Mikals parents. Uncle Bill happened to be a distant relative of Mikals and wanted to convince Mikals parents that Mikal should spend some time with the 'extended family' in the Barrosa valley.

All this would have come to naught had Mikal not lost it at school while being picked on. Mikal did not kill the person in question. He merely hit him, and hit him and hit him and hit him in an attempt to make him stop. Afterwards Mikal let slip that Norse warriors were convincing him that he should kill the other boy involved.

Mikal, never particularily close to his parents, was happy with the idea of shifting to South Australia for a while. It was that or find another school in Victoria, or possibly be incarcerated in a nice friendly institution. It did however take the arrival of Willhelm to finally convince his parents that Mikal going would be a good idea.

1991-1995 Barrossa Valley Blues

Ahhh. The sweet clear scent of the Barrossa Valley. The running waters that go through the sept of the bountiful grape. The house of Kinfolk Willhelm Thorson. Should probably talk about uncle Bill for a bit. Even more then his parents Uncle Bill is important to Mikals history. A large blond bear of a man Willhelm is a kinfolk shaman of quite some repute (for a kinfolk that is). His ability to sniff out Garou before the change is counted as extrodinary by his Kin in the sept. The fact that spirits are happy to talk to him has placed him in good stead with those of his tribe.

Anyway. Because of Uncle Bill's ability Mikals first change was miraculously controlled. There were those arround him who could help him through this difficult stage. Mikals first change was almost completely non-traumatic. After this Mikal was introduced to the sept of the bountiful grape. Such a horribly fianna name for a Get Caern really. Initially Mikal was mentored by Runs-the-flag a philodox who firmly beleived in the litany. The first couple of years of this have hammered the litany into Mikal to the point where it is central to his life. After Runs long (Owww) hard (Owwwwww) regular (Biff) tuition Mikals second uncle was practically a pacifist. Mathew Odinfriend was a galliard who beleives in the intergration of Garou and Human society. His calm outlook and generally peaceable nature was very different from most of the rest of the Get at the Caern. However Mathew was also a stickler for the Litany, and a warrior of the old school.

During his stay in the Barrossa Valley Mikal was 'seconded' to the sept as a general dogsbody until his tuition was finished. The thought was that when he was ready to enter a pack and help out in that way, that was when he should do so. Before that he merely should learn and grow into his abilities.

It was during Mathew's tuition that Mikal lost his virginity. In an exercise to intergrate Garou and Human society Mikal was taken into Adelaide and under Mathews watchful eye told to pick up. Things being what they are he did.

1996-1997 Welcome to the Grinding Stone

Mikal did surprisingly well at the end of High School. Mathew and Willhelm both suggested that Mikal learn more of the laws of human society in an attempt to help better understand people, and the laws of the spirits. Mikal succeeded in admission to the school of Law at Melbourne University. So Mikal returned to Victoria.

Not wanting to lose any real spiritual conection, Mikal pettitioned for admittance to the sept of the Grinding Stone. Again Mikal did not join a pack, feeling that latter, after his studies, may be a better time. However the Garou at Grinding Stone did not look on this as a terribly glorious thing, and coupled with Mikals almost complete lack of warrior prowess made him something of a laughing stock. Thus mikal also spent a fair amount of time at sleeping lore.

At the end of his second year at Grinding Stone Mikal felt ready to join a pack after all. However looking arround Grinding Stone he felt that his abilities would be overlooked and unwarranted. That and the fact that joining a pack would mean almost constant pummeling convinced him that a more permanent shift accross to Sleeping Lore was in Order
