Position on Resignation: Manager
Involvement in several major functional areas within the consulting division
including:
- Information Planning;
- Strategic Reviews;
- Computer Systems Design ; and
- Systems Installations.
Assignments included:
- Detailed design and subsequent installation of a performance reporting
system for a major Australian finance company;
- Strategic Review of the structure and direction for a major State Government
department. This review included an examination of work practices with the
aim of rationalisation and efficiency improvements;
- Project Management of the installation of a general insurance system for
an international company, involving a review of the Company's approach to
the installation and the ongoing responsibility for the day to day organisational
and administrative tasks;
- A review of the transaction recording and costing systems being developed
by a major Australian trading bank; and
- Development and implementation of the corporate information strategy for
a wholly owned Government manufacturer of biological pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities
included: a) the development of a system to establish and manage capital budgets
and control expenditures; b) production of a Framework and Strategy document
detailing the deficiencies of the Finance Section and identification of how
they could best be addressed; c) the redesign of the Financial Modelling and
Reporting system; and d) rationalisation of the general ledger and development
of financial reports.

Senior Consultant
Responsibilities included:
- Supervision of staff in preparation of annual income tax returns;
- Provision of taxation advice with expertise in the area of capital versus
income decisions; and
- Preparation and distribution of an Arthur Andersen & Co. guide to year
end tax planning. This booklet was made available to clients on a yearly basis.
