I have had sole responsibility for lecturing in AFC1022 Accounting Principles. This subject comprised 450 Sequence 2 students who had no previous Accounting experience. The subject covered issues such as the Conceptual Framework, basic accounting procedures, preparation of financial statements and their analysis and interpretation.. I have also been the sole lecturer for AFC2160 Computers and Accounting and developed the entire course. I had full responsibility for all course presentation, administration and student examinations. I was required to supervise 2 tutors, with 120 students enrolled in the subject. The subject introduced accounting students to the basic concepts of computer systems and business software. Students also gained experience in spreadsheet software and computer programming in Visual Basic for Applications.
I am involved in teaching final year commerce students AFC3120 Advanced Financial Accounting (9 classes each with 18 students). This subject focuses on the majority of Australian Accounting Standards and their application, with emphasis placed on new directions in Accounting. I have also tutored first year students in AFC1000 Principles of Accounting and Finance (6 classes each with 26 students), which covers the accounting equation, general purpose financial statements, cash and accrual accounting, balance day adjustments, financial statement analysis, interpreting information for managers to use in planning, decision making and control, and an introduction to finance, financial mathematics and investments. In 2007, I taught AFC1030 Introduction to Financial Accounting (5 classes with 28 students) which builds upon AFC1021/2 and AFC1000, focussing on issues such as inventory valuation, non-current assets, price level accounting and alternative accounting measurement systems. A survey evaluating my performance, completed by my students, is available for perusal. I have also tutored second year Management Accounting and lectured and tutored in third year Management Accounting.

In 2003, I was Webmaster for the Department. I was responsible for the development of the Departmental web site and its contents, including future maintenance. I have represented the Department on the Faculty of Business and Economics Technology Services Group WebCT Working Party.

I have been a facilitator for the ICAA Chartered Accountants Program for a number of years.
