Accounting for Non-Accountants / Accounting for Company
Directors
- a one or two day course which introduces individuals with little or no technical
Accounting background to the basic concepts of Accounting including :
- what is accounting and financial reporting;
- the Conceptual Framework (i.e. the general principles of accounting)
- an understanding of the terms Asset, Liability, Income, Revenue, Expense and Equity;
- a familiarity with the Statement of Financial Performance (Operating Statement or Profit and Loss), the Statement
of Financial Position (Balance Sheet) and Statement of Cash Flows;
- a discussion of the concepts of Debit and Credit and their practical application;
- use of the General Journal and General Ledger;
- the ability to produce journal entries, post these entries to the ledger,
produce a trial balance and financial reports;
- cash versus accrual accounting; and
- a systems approach to accounting and financial reporting.

- a two day course which introduces individuals with little or no Excel
backround to basic and intermediate concepts including :
- basic spreadsheet structures;
- entering and editing data;
- formatting;
- entering formulae;
- using functions;
- range names:
- menubars and toolbars;

- worksheet forms; and
- graphs.

Basic for Applications to a comprehensive overview of VBA concepts including

- Recording and Running Macros;
- Writing and Editing Macros;

- Variables, Constants & Data Types;
- In-Built Functions and User Defined Functions;
- Making Decisions with VBA;
