# Centrifuge Formulas

To work out number of **g** or **RPM** you need to measure the **radius** (in mm) of the centrifuge rotor or look it up in the manual if available; when you know this (usually r max ) then:

** RPM** (for a given g) = 9.55 x √(no.g x 9807)/r

**No.g** (for a given RPM) = [r x (0.105 x RPM) 2 ]/9807

### Notes:

*Derivation formulae: *

RCF = r w^2 /g

w = 2π x RPM/60

60/2π = 9.55

2π/60 = 0.105
