Some people think you need to be super fit to join the Warragul Cycling Club. With a new recreational riding group, four different racing grades, juniors and a Bunch Ride/Race, everyone is catered for at Warragul. The first step is often the hardest, but once you try it we know you will love it. After all it is fun, fresh air and fitness with an activity that is kind to the body but great for the mind. The Warragul Cycling Club hosts weekly racing events on Saturdays and a number of social rides around the district. If you can cruise around on a bike for 20km then why not do it with a club?
Join the Warragul Cycling Club Ride It group. Over fifty members participate in regular training and weekend rides with no competition. This is for fitness, fun and socialising. Visit the Rec Riders page to check it out. Ride It licences can be upgraded to competitive racing licences just by paying the difference. Click here to find out more about the FULL CYCLE licence or contact the membership officer (see below).
Join now and you will receive Warragul Cycling Club membership, local weekly racing and ride opportunities, as well as the ability to race anywhere in Australia . Join the friendliest and one of the best all-round Clubs in Victoria ! Here’s how:
Graeme Fricke: As the Warragul Cycling Club membership officer, Graeme can renew your licence for 2006 at any local club race. Please ensure you arrive extra early to allow time to fill out the forms and not distract Graeme from his commissaire duties. Graeme can also be contacted on gracol@vic.australis.com.au
Coralie Tyrell: Coralie is our Ride It membership officer. Coralie can be contacted on 56 268421 or ctyrrell@dcsi.net.au
Renew Online: Go to www.cycling.org.au. Click on ‘membership’ and then ‘logon’. This service is only available to existing Club members as you are required to login by submitting your licence number and a password (your surname and postcode). This service should now be operational, if it isn't we are most likely aware of this.

Like all sporting clubs, the Warragul Cycling Club survives on the volunteering efforts of our members. All members are expected to take an active role in the day to day operation of the club. For both club racers and recreational riders, you should be prepared to contribute in a range of activities that may include corner marshalling, committee member, maintenance, running of major club events, commissaire (official), signage, etc. The club is only as strong as its members and members need to contribute if the club is to remain.
All members are bound by Cycling Australia's Code of Conduct. Please read this document and be familiar with these expectations.

The Club is constantly seeking assistance from people qualified in the following areas:
Should you be interested in helping the Club by obtaining any of these qualifications, financial support may be provided to help you do so (subject to conditions).
On Race Days you can assist with putting out race signage, corner marshalling, commissaire and line judging.
For recreational ride events, you can assist with becoming a ride leader, pre-ride review of route for hazards, and preparation of risk management plans.
For Club-hosted events, you can assist with corner marshalling, driver support (lead cars and spares vehicles), time keeping, and intermediate sprint and hill climb judging. Some of the annual events the Club hosts are:
The Warragul Track Carnival
The Baw Baw Classic
The Three Days of Gippsland Tour
Country Road Championships
CycleSport Victoria Schools Championships – Gippsland Zone
For social events, you can assist with their promotion, event management and helping out on the day/night.
And finally, you can assist the Club by attending our monthly committee meetings. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at the Velodrome clubrooms.
