Dr Christoph Rüdiger
My research interests lie in the fields of monitoring and predicting natural extremes, in particular water-related. This spans from monitoring soil moisture and drought conditions, to vegetation fuel loads for fire predictions, as well as ice sheet changes over Antarctica. The tools I am using are primarily satellites, but also land surface models and data assimilation systems. I have been and still am co-ordinating field exerpiments in Australia for the calibration and validation of satellites from NASA, ESA, and JAXA.
