Lisa Cameron is the Director of the Monash Centre for Development Economics (CDE). She is an empirical development economist, focusing predominantly on Indonesia and China. Her research often incorporates the techniques of experimental economics.
Professor Cameron is interested in program evaluation and was a principal investigator of a World Bank/Gates Foundation randomised evaluation of an Indonesian sanitation program implemented at scale across rural East Java.
Other projects she is working on include: Understanding Risk-Taking Amongst Sex-Workers in Indonesia; and Cultural Integration: Experimental Evidence from Chinese Immigrants' Preferences. Her work on the behavioural impacts of China's One Child Policy was recently published in Science.
