Dr. Bai received his B.E and M.E in civil engineering from Tsinghua University, China and Ph.D from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne EPFL, Switzerland. He joined the Department of Civil Engineering, Monash University as a lecturer in 2009.
Dr. Bai has been awarded the first run ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award in 2012 (only 2 were awarded to Civil Engineering in this run), for his research work to develop elegant and sustainable structural systems using advanced composite materials.
